Gregory Allen Rose

Memorial Scholarship

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE APRIL 19, 2024

Greg Rose

Gregory (Greg) Allen Rose loved the community he lived in and strived to make it a better place to reside. He was a lifetime resident of Campbell County, Kentucky. He was born in June 1961 and graduated from Campbell County High School (CCHS) in June 1979. His wife, Sherri, graduated the same year as Greg, and their four children are all CCHS graduates as well. Greg showed his love for the Campbell County community and its schools by volunteering in many different capacities, while making many lifelong friends along the way. It is fitting that the recipient of this scholarship, named in his memory, should be a graduating CCHS senior, who like Greg understands the importance and value of community service and demonstrates such by his/her involvement in the community.

As a recipient of the Greg Rose Scholarship, I cannot express how honored I was. From a baby to the age of 12, he was a mentor to me. Teaching me life lessons at a young age that I now understand. He would work with me in basketball and play games with the younger neighbor kids. The impact he had on all of us is unlike anyone I know. If anyone knew Greg, he would do anything for anyone. He did not know a stranger, and as my role model I strive to do the same. No matter how busy I may be, there’s plenty of time to spread random acts of kindness. Receiving this scholarship truly was rewarding because Greg meant the world to me, as he still does to this day. I know life would be so much different with him alive, but the memories will last a lifetime. For those that are applying for this scholarship, I want you to know that you must shine light on others and be a positive person within the community. Take it with pride and be the reason someone smiles. From the financial side this has helped me pay for my first year of college, and that has been very helpful. As a full-time college student anything is appreciated, as you will find out! Best of luck to all applying!
